Limbal relaxing incisions (LRI) are a modification of astigmatic keratotomy (AK), which is a procedure to treat astigmatism.This procedure is very safe and it is not associated with glare or starburst, which often occurs with true corneal incisions (RK and AK). Limbal relaxing incisions (LRI) are the incisions that are placed on the periphery of the cornea, called the limbus, resulting in a cornea that is more rounded.
